The SeaKite invited to The Transat CIC

Published on 24 April 2024

The Beyond the Sea laboratory ship is moored in the heart of the CIC Transat start village. It will be welcoming shipowners, ocean racers and the general public on board throughout the week. Yves Parlier and his team are on hand to explain the workings of this unique vessel, which is mainly powered by its automated kite system, SeaKite.

The SeaKite has been invited by the race’s title partner, the CIC, to represent the link between the world of ocean racing and innovations aimed at decarbonising the seas. After taking the false start of the transatlantic race on Sunday 28 April, the SeaKite will resume its trials off the coast of Brittany, welcoming on board prospects, journalists and players from the region’s maritime world.

From 29 to 31 May, the catamaran will take part in the NavExpo trade show, again in Lorient, before heading back to the Bay of Arcachon.
