Question

What problem are we trying to solve?

With the SeaKite automated traction system, we aim to limit greenhouse gas emissions from ships by saving fuel, on average by 20%. Our system also drastically reduces the consumption of fossil fuels as well as NOx and SOx gases, which are acidifying substances linked to human activities that pollute the atmosphere.

90% of the world’s maritime transport is by sea and in 2020, 90,000 commercial ships were sailing every day emitting 717 million tonnes of CO2. The reduction in fuel consumption that would be achieved by implementing the SeaKite system on all ships would correspond to a reduction of 120 million tonnes of CO2 emissions and a saving of €33 billion per year.

In addition, the Seakite system would solve the problem of optimising navigation by increasing cruising speed.
