The world shipbuilding and architecture market represents an annual turnover of 205 billion euros with a preponderant share of merchant ships (40%), followed by oil tankers (15%) and defence vessels (16%). This market is developing year on year due to growing demand. There are now almost 100,000 shipbuilding and architecture companies worldwide. These companies are obliged, due to increasingly stringent environmental regulations, to offer innovative, less polluting and therefore less fuel-intensive ship propulsion solutions.
It should be noted that France is the 3rd largest European producer of pleasure boats.
