In 2018, as part of the 76th anniversary of the Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC), the International Maritime Organization (IMO) is adopting a strategy to contain CO2 emissions. Indeed, 3% of greenhouse gases come from the maritime sector. If nothing is done to slow down and reduce carbon emissions, they could double by 2050. In addition, from 2023 onwards, ships will be given an individual rating of their actual carbon intensity according to the consumption of the ship and the distance travelled. This rating, ranging from A to E, will lead to a reduction in the speed of certain ships and encourage the use of diesel propulsion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
